Gastroliths: Dinosaur Stomach Rocks

Gastroliths: Dinosaur Stomach Rocks

Dinosaurs ate rocks, then kept them in their gizzards to help them grind up food – just like modern birds do. The polished stomach rocks (or gastroliths) are often found nestled into the stomach region of dinosaur skeletons. These gastroliths (stomach rocks) were found in Worland, Wyoming, USA.
